Sr. Mediatrix reflects on the 7th Sunday in Ordinary Time

In the Gospel, Jesus is calling His disciples, including us, to a higher way of relating to others. If you find yourself having difficulty with someone at work or in your family, reflect on this Gospel and ask the Lord to help you to be merciful as He is merciful. In the 1st Reading, David, a man after the Lord's own heart, shows us an example of God's mercy. This week, ask Our Lady, who knows the heart of the Lord, to teach us to love as He loves.

Prayerfully, read the readings and ask God how He wants you to encounter His love in a new and deeper way this week and how you can apply the readings to your life each day. Some ideas for this week include:

Go back and watch Fr. Brady's video on the SOLT's Instagram page on Gospel Poverty. How can you better live out Gospel Poverty and create and maintain that strong foundation and keep your tower from falling over?

Reflect on the people in your life that might cause you the most difficulty. In light of this week's Gospel, where and how can you love them better? As Sr. Mediatrix said, pray for them and ask Our Lady to teach us to love as Christ loves. Spend some time in Adoration seeking the Lord's heart to love as He loves.

Continue to look into what your Diocese is doing for the Jubilee Year of Hope. Do you have a diocesan passport for the various pilgrimage sites in the Diocese? Do you have any plans to go to any of those sites? Prayerfully consider how you can enter into this Jubilee Year of Hope in a more real and purposeful way.
